so its about 230 in the morning right now.
man vs food, travel channel. theres nothing on discovery anyway.
but thats just background noise at this point.
i just feel like being part of the nielsen ratings.
i did just finish watching seasons 1-4 of mad men today.
took me four days. im exhausted.
and
holy eff, its amazing how programs can influence your mind.
its like being all hopped up on.....sugar....yea, thats good, sugar.
all i want to do now is grab some canadian rye whiskey,
and light up a damn lucky strike.
but thats, neither here nor there.
the grand scheme for today was to have look
at the Gutenberg Bible down at the Schwarz' Building
in the city.
now....i say 'was' because there were so many contributing
factors that seemingly came together, had a pow-wow, and
made the executive decision that they would do all in their
infinite power to make it as difficult as possible for me to get there.
the first being an interview for an internship down by brooklyn.
but ill take the blame for that one....
i totally forgot about it. until this morning.
3 hours before i was supposed to be there...when i woke up.
the second universal force that provided hinderance, was the
force of nature.
now, ive always said that i love the winter, and i do. truly.
but snow....its not me, its you. really, truly.
this is what my street looks like:
and whats really lovely is that fact that its not going to shovel itself.
on the other hand, thats not a bad picture, am i right?
so i hoping my boy bloomy chokes again, and we have an epic snow day tomorrow.
but...i dream.
///////////////////
but okay, onto the more nuanced points of my discussion.
so on the way back from my interview /not bad by the way/
i hop back on the D, and although ive transferred at 42nd
millions of times, id never seen this quote:
the hell out of my shot!
what the hell is that supposed to mean?
what game?
havent you ever seen 'Life After People'?
hasnt the history channel taught us what the outcome of this struggle is going to be?
a fifth question?
okay, okay...so out of frame the quote continues to say, '...but she cannot lose.'
still though, why cant it win.
it was here before us....
......i dont wanna say the rest, merely to avoid being cliche.
but the train ride back from the interview wasnt all that bad.
has anyone seen the new campaign for jet blue?
yea, this new 'You Above All' approach to flying.
hmmm....i like it.
its....humanist. and it works. its simple, its clean, and unencumbered by some stupid image of beach that exists only on that piece of advertising.
the type is just simple shapes, halfmoons/squares/rectangles/what-have-you/
overlayed on top of one another. its makes the previous campaign look busy...
not that it was bad, just a bit too campy. like fake happy, feel me?
hold this:
and the ones that i saw in the car of the train, were even better.
simple shapes, articulating drinks and refreshments, solid colors, and overlayed.
it felt so fresh, like a swig of sprite on a muggy, bleeehhhhhh summer day.
holy crap, what a nerd.
THAT IS A SWEET LOGO
